BIDDEFORD — Becca Murphy hooked up with Tori Field for the game-tying goal as the University of New England women’s soccer team finished in a 1-1 deadlock with the Wentworth Institute of Technology in a Commonwealth Coast Conference contest on Saturday at Barbara J. Hazard Field.

The tie halted a four-game losing streak for the Leopards (5-6-2, 1-3-1 CCC), while UNE (8-2-1, 3-1-1) is unbeaten in its last four matches.

Wentworth sophomore Mary Annon opened the scoring in the 18th minute when she converted a free kick from nearly 40-yards out.

The Nor’easters tied the score less than six minutes later after Murphy found former Morse High School standout Field near the top of the box. Field pushed a shot towards the left of the frame, and the ball grazed the post before trickling into the goal.

UNE returns to action today at home against the University of Southern Maine at 6:30 p.m.
