Rockland Nursing Circle
The Nursing Circle will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Nov. 14, in the library’s Children’s Room.
This circle welcomes expectant and nursing families of all stripes with their nurslings of all ages. Come with questions, curiosities or simply to commune. It is free to attend. Refreshments and positive vibes provided.
The gathering will be facilitated by Lulu Churchill (CLC) with input about library resources from children’s librarian Katie Drago.
Churchill completed her certification in lactation management through the Center for Breastfeeding at the Healthy Children Project. She is the mother of two little ones and lives in Camden.

Poetry reading

The library will celebrate the release of Volume 2 of the Midcoast Poetry Journal with a reading at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20.
The Midcoast Poetry Journal is a collection of poems by Midcoast poets. Local poets — including members of the Rockport and Thomaston Public Libraries’ Poets’ Corner groups, and organizers of the Midcoast Poetry Calendar — have shared their work in this new publication. The public is invited to enjoy readings by the contributing poets in the library’s Reading Room. Copies of the journal will be available for purchase at the event.

Middle School Book Club
The library’s Middle School Book Club will meet from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20. Fourth to eighth graders are invited to read, craft and chat in the Board Room.
The club will meet every Regional School Unit 13 early release day to discuss great books and eat snacks. Join Miss Katie in exploring all kinds of fun books through the Maine Student Book Award reading list: sites.google.com/view/mainestudentbookaward/home. Kids get to pick their own book from the list every month and book talk it to group at the next meeting. Every March, the group votes on its favorites and submits them to the state.

Daniel Tiger’s Grr-iffic Literacy Tour
Maine Public and Rockland Public Library will presents Daniel Tiger’s Grr-iffic Literacy Tour with Maine author Stephen Costanza from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20.
This event is free, but registration is required through Maine Public at tinyurl.com/mv53pv5d.
Daniel Tiger will visit the library with Costanza for stories and activities.
AquaTots: Marine Hitchhikers
Join Herring Gut Coastal Science Center for stories, songs, movement, a craft and live sea animals at this mini-biology lesson for children from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21. This month’s program will have green crabs, common periwinkles and tunicates.
This program is recommended for ages 3-6.
This event will take place in the Community Room at the library. No registration required.
