A notable remodel for this year is that of the mid-sized Fusion. Already a very popular car on the market, Ford has opted to maximize the Fusion’s allure by not only redesigning it but also by giving it new engines. On the design front, the picture speaks for itself. It’s true the new Fusion bears a resemblance to exotic European cars, but under the hood there are some differences. For example, there is no longer a V-6 engine on offer; instead, Ford is offering a few new four-cylinder engines, such as the mighty 1.6- and 2.0-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost powerplants. The base 2.5-liter four-cylinder is still available, but the new engine powering the hybrid version is an Atkinson cycle 2.0-liter four-cylinder. While the Hybrid version relies upon a CVT transmission, most Fusions will get a sixspeed automatic. In fact, only the 1.6-liter EcoBoost will be available with a six-speed manual transmission. Most Fusions are frontwheel drives, but the most powerful one will now be available with the all-wheel-drive option.
