BRUNSWICK — To officially start its summer food service schedule, Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program will hold a kickoff event on Friday, June 28.

Held at Perryman Village community center, 51 Perryman Drive, from noon to 1 p.m., the party will feature free lunches for children and teenagers, as well as watermelon and other snacks for grown-ups.

Karen Parker, MCHPP’s executive director, and Mid Coast Hospital President and CEO Lois Skillings will be guest speakers. Live music will be provided by folk singer and songwriter Martin Swinger, said Laurel Koepke, MCHPP staffer and Americorps Vista member.

Information will be available from partner organizations Independence Association, Healthy Casco Bay and Read With ME, and the Art Van will make an appearance.
