BRUNSWICK —An 82-yearold New Hampshire man was taken to Maine Medical Center after a crash Friday morning at Bath and Old Bath roads.
Brunswick police Sgt. Russ Wrede said Alfred Morency, 82, of Concord, N.H., was driving east on Bath Road and failed to stop at a red light. His 2010 Chevy Equinox struck the passenger side of a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder driven by Timothy Nace, 35, of Woolwich, who was crossing the intersection. The crash was reported at 9:37 a.m. Friday.
Morency was initially taken to Mid Coast Hospital and later transferred to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he remained in satisfactory condition Monday. Wrede said Morency was issued a citation for failure to stop at a red light.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
