BOWDOINHAM — The Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department is investigating whether a man who alleges to have fallen on a knife Saturday night was stabbed or wounded accidentally.
The sheriff ’s department was called to a home on Raspberry Lane at 8:38 p.m. Saturday. Lt. Calvin Temple said Deputy Al Huntington found a 23-year-old man standing in the doorway bleeding from the nose. His 27-year-old brother had sustained a knife wound to the neck.
Temple said the brother with the knife wound said he fell on a knife in the kitchen. He was transported to Maine Medical Center, where he was not listed as a patient as of Monday afternoon.
Temple said the sheriff ’s department will have to investigate further.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
