U.S. Sens. Susan Collins, RMaine, and Angus S. King, Jr., I-Maine, will visit Bath Iron Works Thursday.

The visit will be Collins’ and King’s first event together in Maine. Both hold seats on committees that oversee Maine’s military interests.

They said in a joint news release they “intend to express their intention to work together to protect the jobs of thousands of Mainers.”

Collins and King will join BIW President Jeffrey Geiger to tour the facility and speak to workers. The senators also will visit Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
