BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick Downtown Association’s 13th annual benefit auction, “Magic on Maine,” took place in October at The Daniel Hotel in Brunswick.
All auction proceeds will support BDA’s holiday lighting fund and annual community events such as Music on the Mall Summer Concert Series, 2nd Friday Brunswick (Artwalk, Music, Theater), Brunswick Outdoor Arts Festival, Rolling Slumber Bed Races and Early Bird Sale, and BDA’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. Magic on Maine is the largest fundraiser of the year for the BDA, whose mission is “to promote downtown Brunswick as a vibrant and attractive place to live, work, play and do business.”
The auction featured a silent and live auction with a total of 130 items, including overnight packages, local adventures and activities, themed baskets, jewelry, artwork and gift certificates to local restaurants.
“A big thank you to everyone who came out to support the BDA in our effort to bring fun and excitement to downtown Brunswick,” said Debora King, BDA executive director.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
