TURNER — The Mt. Ararat Middle School “B” team played it’s first field hockey game of the season recently traveling to Tripp Middle School.
The Eagles lost, 2-0.
The hosts dominated much of the play, but the visiting Eagles held their own. Towards the end of the second half, they had good chances to score, but the Tripp defense stepped up, allowing the forwards to push to the goal.
Danika Siatras and Avery Myrick made great saves in goal, while backs Nadia Rosenberg, Elvia Beattie, Piper Cohen and Tara Crossman played strong defense for Mt. Ararat. Mary Baker, Libby Anderson and Grace Phillips added support in the midfield as they broke up multiple Tripp attacks before getting to the scoring circle.
Speedy forwards Anna Bernier, Jules Dauphinais, Lydia Monks, Lily Stewart and Alex Graf. created chances.
Mt. Ararat’s next game is Monday at home against Oxford Hills.
