BRUNSWICK — Lawrence tallied four runs in the sixth inning of a close game against Brunswick as the Bulldogs defeated the Dragons, 7-2 in KVAC play Monday.

Lawrence opened the game by scoring two runs, with the big hit a two-run double provided by Lauren Lambert.

Brunswick responded as leadoff hitter Allie Eck dropped a single in right field, stole second base and raced home on Shelby Plourde’s triple to right-center field.

Lawrence scored another run in the fourth inning to advance its lead to 3-1 as Haley Holt, who had walked, raced home on Camryn Caldwell fielder’s choice.

Bulldog pitcher Lilly Herrin, featuring an impressive fastball, kept the Dragons off the scoreboard until the sixth inning when Shea Sullivan walked. Sullivan advanced to second base on a misplayed blast to left field off the bat of Ketty Stinson. Freshmen Alexis Guptill scored Sullivan with a single.
