The Maine Marine Patrol announced Thursday that the targeted search is over for a missing boater who went missing in the Androscoggin River May 12.
The search for 27-year-old Stephen Wines of Bath will continue as part of routine patrols both on the water and in the air, a Marine Patrol Facebook post said, after another day spent searching.
Wines was last seen in the river near Bay Bridge Landing in Brunswick.
Marine Patrol officers have been out all week with boats and a plane searching by air. Wednesday they had divers on hand and used side scan sonar Wednesday and Thursday to help search below the surface of the water.
Family members and friends of Wines have also been searching for him and have said they won’t give up until he’s been found. He has a 10-year-old son and a seven-month-old daughter.
