The 44th annual Bowdoinham Public Library Plant Sale will open Town Hall doors at 9 a.m. Saturday and end at 4 p.m.
The event is the largest fundraiser for the library and recognized by the Maine State Legislature as the longest running plant sale in the state.
The sale will offer more than 120 species of perennials in various varieties and colors — locally grown and hardy. There will also be trees, shrubs, annuals, herbs and vegetables.
“This is a day when Bowdoinham comes together to welcome spring, rejuvenate gardens and friendships, and support the library,” a sale announcement states.
All proceeds go directly to the Bowdoinham Public Library.
The sale is at the Town Hall at 13 School St.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
