As a continuation of the local Lutheran/Roman Catholic observance of Reformation 500, a guided tour of the historic St. John the Baptist Church at 37 Pleasant St. in Brunswick will be given on Saturday, May 6, at 10 a.m.
This free event is offered as part of series of opportunities during this 500th anniversary year of the Reformation to strengthen understanding and friendship between the congregations of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and All Saints Catholic Parish. During the tour, participants will learn the history of the building and be made aware of the special devotions of its early parishioners. Items from the church Museum will also be viewed.
Following the tour light refreshments will be served. All are welcome.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
