SANFORD — When Joyce Veroneau, an associate real estate broker at Remax/Realty One answered the telephone a while ago, she noticed the call was coming from Los Angeles. She started to listen, figuring it might be an unwanted solicitation call.
But it was someone from the HGTV channel, talking about her real estate listing in West Newfield.
They wanted to show her listing for the program “House Hunters Renovation.”
She can’t say much more, because of the confidentiality agreement, but the program is schedule to air 10 p.m. tonight on HGTV.
“I left a key with them, they said they’d be there several hours,” said Veroneau, who has been in the real estate industry for 15 years.
The show typically has prospective homebuyers view a few properties before deciding on a purchase and renovation.
Veroneau, who said she enjoys all aspects of the real estate business — and particularly enjoys dealing with first time home buyers — said the real estate business is brisk, and in Sanford, inventories are down. “We need more listings,” she said.
As for the show, she plans to watch it with her family.
“It’s the most exciting thing in my real estate career,” she said.
