WHITMAN, Mass. — Frances E. (McGowan) Nadeau, 90, of Whitman, Massachusetts, formerly of Methuen, passed away Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at the Golden Living Center in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

She was born in Boston and was the daughter of the late Terrance McGowan and Lempe Sophia (Grönblom) McGowan.

Mrs. Nadeau attended Boston area schools and worked in retail in the Merrimack Valley area. She was a parishioner of St. Lucy’s Church in Methuen.

Mrs. Nadeau was preceded in death by her husband, Gerard A. Nadeau, and her brother, John McGowan.

She is survived by: her sons, Paul Nadeau and his wife, Barbara, of Whitman, Massachusetts, Ronald Nadeau and his wife, Elizabeth Kosis, of Hollis, New Hampshre, and James Nadeau and his wife, Deborah, of Winfield, Illinois; her daughter, Suzanne Delaney and her husband, John, of Methuen, Massachusetts; and her brother, Leo McGowan and his wife, Sis (Inez), of Bridgewater, Massachusetts; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017 at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen, Massachusetts. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, at St. Lucy’s Church, 254 Merrimack St., Methuen. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
