DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The Maine Maritime Academy women’s basketball fell to Ursinus College on Wednesday night, 54-51, in non-conference action at the Land of Magic Classic.
The Bears held the Mariners to single-digit scoring in the first two quarters of play to take a 28-14 lead into the intermission. Down 39-25 entering the fourth quarter, the Mariners outscored Ursinus, 19-9 in the final seven minutes of the game, including tying things up at 48 with 1:54 to play following two lay-ups by Alayne Felix.
But, Ursinus received a late 3-pointer to pull away.
Kristi Willey of Topsham had six points for MMA (4-5), which faces Brooklyn College today at 1 p.m.
