BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick High School girls junior varsity Orange team’s defense dominated from the tip-off as the Dragons built a 17-4 first-quarter lead in a 58-24 win over Medomak Valley on Tuesday.
Seven Dragons scored six or more points in the contest as Emily LaRochelle led the way offensively with 14 points. MacKenzie Burrows and Rosalie White played strong in the post and the duo split 18 points and 25 rebounds. Anna Kousky played the role of thief as she had seven steals along with creating numerous turnovers with her ballhawking play. Kousky also contributed with eight points to go along with five assists.
Cheyenne Nash led Medomak Valley with 11 points.
Grace Clendening, Tanisha McKenzie and Izzy Banks added six points each for Brunswick. The Dragons outpaced the Panthers in the second half with a 32-13 advantage.
