WISCASSET — St. Philip’s Church at 12 Hodge St. in Wiscasset will host chowder suppers from 5:30-7 p.m. July 30 and again Aug. 13.
On the menu will be haddock chowder, salad bar, corn bread, and desserts. Vegetarian vegetable soup will be available and vegan hot dogs are available upon request.
The charge is $10 adult, $5 for children under 12.
This is the 36th year the church has been hosting dinners.
Also for sale will be tickets for the Church Steeple Fund’s raffle. St. Philip’s has been awarded a matching grant from the Maine Community Foundation to help fix its historically significant steeple. As the first of a series of fundraising events, the raffle’s prizes include as first prize, a hand-sewn quilt created by Helene Gilhooley. Second prize is a cord of firewood courtesy of Al Smith of Waldoboro, and third prize is a $50 gift certificate to Fisherman’s Catch fish market in Damariscotta. Each ticket is $1, with a book of 6 tickets for $5.
