GORHAM — Heather Everett scored a season-high six points on five goals and one assist as the University of Southern Maine ran past the University of Maine at Farmington, 21-2 in non-conference women’s lacrosse action Monday afternoon at Hannaford Field.
The win snapped the Huskies’ six-game losing skid and improved their overall record to 2-6. The Beavers have lost their last four outings and fell to 2-5 overall.
Sophomore Sierra Gilley (Harpswell/Mt. Ararat) scored both goals for UMF. Classmate Alyssa Arsenault (Winthrop, Maine) registered 11 saves.
Junior Aubrey Pennell ( Bowdoinham/ Freeport) scored her first goal of the season for USM. Pennell also forced four UMF turnovers.
The Huskies will play nonconference foe Maine Maritime Academy in their next game on Thursday (5 p.m.). The Beavers are slated to face Husson University in a North Atlantic Conference game tonight, 7 p.m. at Thomas College.
