LEWISTON — Bates College junior Allison Hill of Brunswick has been named the NESCAC Women’s Track Performer of the Week, announced Monday by the New England Small College Athletic Conference, after her outstanding meet Saturday at MIT.
Competing in the quad meet along with Tufts and RPI, Hill helped Bates win the 4×100 relay race and finished second in both the 100- and 400-meter hurdles.
A timing error in the first 100 hurdles, a race Hill won, forced the run to be repeated. Hill finished second in 15.06 in the second run.
In the 400 hurdles, Hill crossed in 1:04.44, the fourth fastest time in Bates track history.
Hill’s times Saturday raised her profile in national Division III rankings as she is currently 11th in the 400 hurdles, 23rd in the 100 hurdles and, along with her teammates, 16th in the 4 x 100 relay.
Hill, also an All-NESCAC selection in women’s soccer last fall, is Bates’ first NESCAC Women’s Track Performer of the Week since Kallie Nixon on April 7, 2014.
