Our membership-based organization assists with the planning of these events. We promote the event to municipal leaders, SMMC board of directors, members and the public in our 16-town region. The goal is to increase the visibility of all businesses in our region, whether they are SMMC members or not.
Last year, SMMC assisted in 18 ribbon cuttings. This year is off to a similar start with five events completed and one more planned.
In January, we welcomed Creative Treasures Workshop (433 Lewiston Road, Topsham). This business hosts paint nights, children’s art and sewing classes and arts supplies for sale. Kings & Queens Hair Studio (50 Maine St., Brunswick) brings a classic American barbershop and salon to downtown Brunswick by a mother and son team. We celebrated the doubling in size of US Cellular (11 Winner’s Circle, Topsham), which makes shopping for wireless service an easy and enjoyable experience. Their store shows off the latest devices, accessories and technology.
Last Friday, we welcomed Avalon Healing Arts (98 Middle Bay Road, Brunswick). The professional, compassionate and holistic services include Reiki, shamanic, crystal, sound, hypnotherapy and much more.
Next Monday at 9 a.m. we’ll welcome New Beet Market (25 Burbank Ave., Brunswick Landing). This is a café, eatery and retail marketplace serving locally sourced, made-from-scratch food.
View our scrolling calendar on our website for upcoming ribbon cuttings.
Patronize these businesses, they are growing our region’s economy, providing services and products for all and new jobs.
