TOPSHAM
The Topsham Planning Board will conduct a walk at the site of a proposed 13 house subdivision beyond Homeplace tonight at 6 p.m. before its regular 7 p.m. meeting, where the board will hold a public hearing on the preliminary plan.
After the public hearing on the proposed subdivisionthe board will consider voting on the preliminary plan submitted by Tom Bethea.
A final plan will still need to be submitted for approval before the project can move forward.
The subdivision, called “The Glades Above Homeplace,” would be located beyond the Homeplace subdivision now on a dead end road. The plan has garnered concern from residents because most of the property is in an aquifer protection zone and also many homeowners in Homeplace as well as Bay Park have had issues with wet basements.
Traffic has also been a concern because of the proposal to connect Homeplace and the Arbor Avenue subdivisions to comply with the town’s road connectivity standards — which would connect Foreside and Middlesex roads.
The Planning Board will also conduct a site walk at Topsham Dental Arts, located at 37 Foreside Road, at 5:30 p.m. tonight. Topsham Dental Arts has submitted a proposed site plan amendment for a parking lot expansion.
