FIT Dean’s List

The following students from Florida Institute of Technology were named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2015 semester. They are:

Jacob Kenney of Harpswell, who majored in Mechanical Engineering; and Alex Denis of Topsham, who majored in Aerospace Engineering.

Springfield College Dean’s List

Springfield College has named Katherine Nulle of West Bowdoin to the dean’s list for academic excellence for the spring 2015 term. Nulle is studying Health Science/ Occupational Therapy.

Morrisville State College Dean’s List

Morrisville State College recently announced that Leanna Smith of Freeport was named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2015 semester.

Macalester College Dean’s List

Tyler O’Brien, the son of Amy and Jeffrey O’Brien of Pownal, has been named to the dean’s list of Macalester College for academic achievement during the spring semester of the 2014- 15 school year. A graduate of Merriconeag Waldorf School, O’Brien was a junior at Macalester last spring.

William & Mary Dean’s List

Timothy Wright of Freeport was recently named to the Dean’s List at the College of William & Mary for the spring 2015 semester. Wright recently graduated with a BS degree.

University of New Haven Dean’s List

Jordan Roy of Freeport was named to the Dean’s List at the University of New Haven for the Spring 2015 semester.

Saint Michaels College Dean’s List

The following local students were named to the Dean’s List at Saint Michaels College for the Spring 2015 semester:

Caitlin R. Balicki, a May graduate Sociology and Anthropology major who is the daughter of John and Karen Balicki of Brunswick and a graduate of Chop Point School.

Sarah J. Donahue, a first-year History major who is the daughter of Lisa Piteau of Yarmouth and a graduate of South Portland High School.

Boston College graduates

The following local residents graduated from Boston College:

Brian Billett of Brunswick has graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University’s Robert J. Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences, with a major in Communication.

Anya McCarthy of Brunswick has graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University’s Robert J. Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences, with a major in History.

Dustin Pazar of Yarmouth has graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University’s Robert J. Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences, with a major in Theatre.

Commencement took place May 18 in Alumni Stadium on the Boston College campus in Chestnut Hill, Mass. There were more than 4,000 undergraduate and graduate degree recipients in the Boston College Class of 2015.

Trinity College graduates

The following local residents graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut.

Miranda Nicole Riendeau Card, of Bowdoinham. Riendeau-Card earned a B.S. in Biology.

Natalie Elizabeth Salmon, of Yarmouth graduated cum laude. Salmon earned a B.A. in Political Science.

William Walker Strabley, of Yarmouth. Strabley earned a B.A. in English.

Bentley University Dean’s List

Bentley University recently announced the names of local residents who were named to the Dean’s List in the spring 2015 semester. They include:

Meaghan Harper, a sophomore from Bath; Eliza Brooks, a sophomore from Brunswick; James Purdy, a sophomore from Freeport; and Scott Ross, a senior from Freeport.

Clark University graduates

The following local residents have received a degree from Clark University: Mitchell Cameron Perry of Brunswick graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English.

Luke A. Carter of Brunswick graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

Jasper J. Boyd of Brunswick graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in computer science.

Chloe C. Kimball of Freeport graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Economics. Kimball is a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, the National Economics Honor Society.

Ryan Michael Collins of Woolwich graduated with a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Environmental Science and Policy. Collins is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the national honor society for students of management.

Stonehill College Dean’s List

The following local residents were named to the Spring 2015 Dean’s List at Stonehill College:

Meghan McDonough of Brunswick, Christopher Bruno of Brunswick and Constance Hodge of Topsham.

Boston University graduates

Boston University awarded academic degrees to 6,100 students in May.

Among the graduates were Jasper K. Lowe, who received a Bachelor of Science in Film and Television; and Henry J. Conroy, who received a Bachelor of Science in Film and Television.

Union College graduates

Members of the Union College Class of 2015 received their diplomas Sunday, June 14. About 500 students received their degrees at the College’s 221st Commencement on Hull Plaza.

Several local residents were members of the graduating class. They include:

Brina Dillon of Freeport. Dillon graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Biology.

Tara Metzger of Lisbon Falls. Metzger graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Geology.

Matthew Worthington of Brunswick. Worthington graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Geology.

Denison University Dean’s List

Meghan McGuire of Brunswick was one of 372 students named to Denison University’s 2015 spring semester dean’s list by Provost Kim Coplin.

Hamilton College Dean’s List

Julia F. Carpenter, daughter of Molly and David Carpenter of Brunswick, has been named to the Dean’s List at Hamilton College for the 2015 spring semester. Carpenter, a rising sophomore, is a graduate of Brunswick High School.

Saint Anselm College Dean’s List

The following students were named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2015 semester at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, N.H.:

Sydni A. Clark, Brunswick; Eli R. Gerardi, Brunswick; Zachary W. Greene, Freeport; and Lindsay M. Watts, West Bath.

IC Professional Excellence Award

Liam Kavin, a student in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance at Ithaca College from Brunswick, was recently awarded the Professional Excellence Award. The Professional Excellence Award is given to students who embody the long tradition of knowledge and achievement within the Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education.

Keene State College graduates

On Saturday, May 9, Keene State College’s Commencement honored the graduating class of 2015. Among the graduates was Kayla Purinton of Brunswick, who raduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.

Southern Vermont Provost List

Kelly Bridges of Brunswick has been named to the Provost List for the Spring 2015 semester at Southern Vermont College in Bennington, Vt. Bridges is a sophomore majoring in Healthcare Management and Advocacy. She has been a campus ambassador in the Office of Admissions. This is her fourth consecutive semester being named to the Provost List. Bridges is a graduate of Brunswick High School, and she is the daughter of Debbie and Sid Bridges of Brunswick.
