TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat eighth grade girls soccer team played two games last week, starting with a home victory against Tripp Middle School, 2-1.
Both teams had several scoring opportunities, including two unassisted goals by Eagles Maddie Horrocks and Alyssa Dau. Tripp answered with a goal in the second half to bring the game within one, but the Eagles held on to the win.

On Friday the Eagles traveled to Oxford Hills and battled through a physical game, but failed to convert on any scoring chances as they fell 2-0 in the contest.
Mariah Bernier and Abby Richardson played well for Mt. Ararat.
