The Maine Review, a new Mainebased literary review which publishes short fiction, poetry, essays and memoir, is launching its first quarterly issue this month.

The summer issue of Maine Review features work by Maine authors, including celebrated poet Annie Finch, Authors Guild President Roxana Robinson, Maine Senior Poet Laureate Roger Finch, and Ellie O’Leary, host of WERUFM’s Writers Forum, and also includes works by other published authors and new writers in Maine.

A “sneak peek” of the summer issue is available on the web at www.TheMaineReview.com. Subscriptions are available at $30 for four quarterly print issues, or $15 for an electronic subscription. Maine Review is committed to showcasing Maine artists on each issue’s cover. The summer issue features a painting by Portland artist Marguerite Lawler.

Maine Review is seeking sponsors — literary-loving patrons who want to contribute toward the costs of publication of the fall issue — and businesses who wish to sponsor the magazine in return for ads targeted toward Maine readers and the national reading public. Sponsors will be listed in each issue and on the website.

The editor of Maine Review is Maine writer Katherine Mayfield, author of the award-winning memoir “The Box of Daughter: Healing the Authentic Self” and “Bullied: Why You Feel Bad Inside and What to Do About It.”
