WESTBROOK — Earlier this month, owners Win and Stacy Dodge of Bill Dodge Auto Group presented a check for $41,300 to Gail Wilkerson and Dennis Brown of Easter Seals of Maine for their Military and Veterans Program.
In May, Bill Dodge announced that in honor of Memorial Day it would donate $100 to the program for any vehicle sold during the month. The sales team sold 413 vehicles for a total donation of $41,300.
The funds will support Easter Seals’ work in Maine on behalf of military personnel, post-9/11 veterans and their families who face challenges re-entering civilian life after their military service ends.
“We are still pinching ourselves about this terrific gift, as it is one of the largest we have received in recent history,” said Wilkerson, executive director of Easter Seals Maine.
Bill Dodge currently employs more than 20 military veterans, and the idea for this campaign started with one of them. Cliff Chase in GMC sales went to his manager and said, “Let’s give back to the veterans for Memorial Day,” and that is exactly what happened.
The Bill Dodge Auto Group has been a family owned and operated dealership since 1970. Bill Dodge sells Buick, BMW, Cadillac, GMC, Hyundai, Infiniti, Kia and Nissan with locations in Westbrook, Brunswick and Saco.
