Pianist Martin Perry will present a concert of solo works by Chopin, Grieg and Hindemith on Sunday, May 4th at 3 p.m. This is a rare opportunity to hear Martin perform in the intimate setting of Brunswick’s historic First Parish Church, situated at the top of the town green next to Bowdoin College.
The First Parish concert will be Martin’s first solo appearance in Maine since the release of his two exciting new CDs on Bridge Records, both of which received spectacular reviews both here and abroad. Reviewed in International Piano Magazine Nov 2013 “Martin Perry’s playing (of the Concord Sonata) is supremely assured. This version holds its head up high and for reasons musicological as well as musical is a must-have.”
The works to be performed include Chopin’s Barcarolle, Edvard Grieg’s suite “From Holberg’s Time” and Paul Hindemith’s rarely-heard Piano Sonata No. 1 from 1936.
Tickets for the concert will be $20 available at the door. For more information visit www.martinperrypiano.com or phone (207) 319- 6057.
