O’Brien joins Alexis Nolan and Suzanne Zimmerman providing full scope nurse-midwifery services including maternity care, family planning, and well woman gynecological care at all stages of life. Together, they provide 24/7 coverage and services at Mid Coast Hospital’s Maternity Care Center.
“I am thrilled to join the midwifery practice here at Mid Coast Hospital, as its reputation for providing exceptional care and building community precedes it,” said O’Brien. “I look forward to becoming a part of that community myself, while building trusting, autonomous relationships with women and their families through the childbearing years, and across the lifespan.”
O’Brien obtained both her bachelor of science degree in nursing and master’s of science in nursemidwifery from Columbia University School of Nursing in New York. She has been involved in birth work for almost ten years in various settings, most recently on staff at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital.
Mid Coast Medical Group — Women’s Health Care is located at 121 Medical Center Drive in Brunswick.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
