Audrey Thames of Topsham, a freshman at Elmira College, was selected to attend a reception last month for Captain Richard Phillips, who recounted his experience with pirates off the coast of Somalia.
Thames — the daughter of Karen Perry-Thames and Wesley Thames of Topsham — attended Catherine McAuley High School in Portland.
