BRUNSWICK — Leading 10-6 at the half, the Brunswick High School freshman football team outscored rival Morse 22-6 in the second half en route to a 32-12 victory on Thursday.
The Dragons, 5-0 and slated to host Lewiston this upcoming Thursday, jumped out to an 8-0 lead when Jesse Devereaux scored a touchdown and Hunter Garrett ran in the 2-point conversion.
The Shipbuilders answered with an interception return to draw to 8-6, but Brunswick recorded a safety when Corban Teel and Jaznel Burns sacked the Morse quarterback in the end zone for a 10-6 advantage.
In the second half, Burns, Devereaux and Nelson Gay each scored a touchdown for Brunswick in the third quarter to put the game away.
The Dragons defense was strong, led by the secondary of Aaron Gary, Aaron Carlton, Jackson Gordon and Christian Jensen.
