FAMILY FOCUS hosted representatives from State Farm, the KIDS Consortium, the Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance, the Family Focus board and program managers from Family Focus School-age Summer Programs along with local school administration representative Greg Bartlett to celebrate conclusion of a collaborative $7,500 grant from State Farm Insurance, awarded last spring, allowing Family Focus to collaborate with KIDS Consortium and the Maine Mathematics and Science Allianceto improve opportunities for outof school-time learning. The grant was used this summer at Family Focus School-age Summer Programs to train and support staff in linking science, technology, engineering and math standards and high quality service-learning experiences. Their curriculum was on the topic of energy.
