To the Editor:
As a citizen of Maine, I am totally embarrassed by our flaunting tea party governor’s bad manners. He is a sad, pathetic, insecure “boy” who will continue being an idiot.
He reminds me of the founder of the John Birch Society ultranut, (U.S.) Sen. Joe McCarthy, who went around bullying and intimidating people by accusing them of being communists and pinkos. Finally, our Maine senator, Margaret Chase Smith, stood up to him on the Senate floor with her “Declaration of Conscience” speech. This speech led to the downfall of McCarthy, as senators would walk out of the room whenever he spoke. He later died in disgrace.
Does this sound like LePage?
In November 2014, we Maine voters will have a chance to get our pride and dignity back. We worked too hard then to let this “boy” governor tell us how to run our lives.
At this time, I am voting for Eliot Cutler. He is a true independent, fair and open-minded. I do not care for (U.S. Rep. Mike) Michaud. He can just retire in northern Maine; he had his time.
If we do not vote for Cutler, then LePage will win by default, again.
