BRUNSWICK — Mt. Ararat jumped out to 4-0 first-inning lead and tacked on three runs in the seventh on a three-run home run by Taylor Pare in a 9-2 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference high school softball victory over Brunswick on Friday.
The Eagles, who improved to 3-4 and visit Oxford Hills today at 4 p.m., were led by Pare’s four hits, including two doubles. Devon Hutchins had three hits (single, two doubles) and Mallory Nelson singled twice as Mt. Ararat pounded out 12 hits.
Kim Leslie earned the mound win, going the distance on five hits, five strikeouts and two walks.
Maddie Wilkes had two hits to pace 0-8 Brunswick, with Jena Libby, KK Teel and Emily Girardin adding one single apiece.
Teel struck out three and walked seven on the mound.
The Dragons visit Oxford Hills on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

In the first game of an East- West Conference doubleheader on Thursday, the Bobcats scored seven first-inning runs in rolling to a win.
Jamie Plummer pitched a three-hitter with two strikeouts and no walks.
At the plate, Payton Johnson had two singles.
Valley pitcher Teagan Lawyerson allowed six hits, 10 walks and struck out six.

Plummer tossed her second no-hitter as Richmond improved to 5-0 and hosts rival Buckfield on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
Scoreless through two frames, Richmond scored five times in the third. A nine-run fourth and five-run fifth invoked the 12-run Mercy Rule.
Plummer again struck out two and did not walk a Valley hitter. An error was all that separated Plummer from a perfect game.
Kelsie Obi led the Bobcat offense with a triple, two singles and five RBIs. Sydney Choate picked up two singles and two RBIs, while Kalah Patterson singled and doubled.
Sydney Benson pitched for Valley (0-4). She walked 13 and struck out three.

The error bug returned for the Shipbuilders, who committed 11 miscues in a KVAC Class B home loss on Friday.
Amy Haynes belted a threerun home run for the Windjammers (4-3), Becca Hilt and Natalie Hamalainen each had two singles, and pitcher Hannah Corney struck out one, walked one and allowed eight hits.
Camden took control in the second, scoring seven runs. A three-run fifth and six-run sixth frame helped bring about the Mercy Rule.
Morse (1-6 and slated to host Lincoln Academy today at 4 p.m.) pitcher Jacelyn McNeill struck out eight, walked five and hit two hitters.
At the plate, Morgan Cram had two doubles for Morse, while McNeill chipped in a pair of singles, Kate Dube doubled, and Lucy Rawson, Leia Graves and Meghan Stover each singled.
