BOWDOIN — The driver of a Hummer was not injured after striking a utility pole on Route 125 Thursday in Bowdoin.

Sagahadoc County sheriff ’s Sgt. Dale Hamilton said the 2006 Hummer was being driven by a 17-year-old Bowdoin male when it struck a utility pole near 1140 Main St., Thursday at 7:04 p.m. and snapped it into three pieces before the coming to rest in a ditch. The driver was not injured. The Hummer sustained considerable damage, Hamilton said. No charges were issued.

After the crash, the Central Maine Power Company listed 259 to 400 customers without power in the area.
