BRUNSWICK— Mid Coast Senior Health Center offers a monthly support group with presentations designed to help understand the challenges of caring for someone with dementia, fostering supportive and beneficial conversation among participants.
Andy Sokoloff, grief and bereavement coordinator with CHANS Home Health Care, will present “Grieving the Loss of a Loved One to Dementia,” 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. today.
The presentation will focus on the grieving process and the complex feelings that may arise from caring for loved one with dementia as their memories fade, and the ways in which the grieving process for those dementia may differ from other chronic illnesses.
The support group is free and open to the public, and meets the third Thursday of every month at Mid Coast Senior Health Center, 58 Baribeau Drive.
