LISBON — Police arrested a Minot man Thursday and charged him with criminal restraint.
Lisbon police received a report from parents of a 16- year-old Lisbon girl that she had run away from her home and that she might be with Erik Mayle, 33, of Minot.
Lisbon and Lewiston police searched downtown Lewiston after tips the girl was in the area, but she was not located, Lisbon police said in a news release.
Mayle had been subject to a two-year protection-fromabuse order, ordering him not to have contact with the girl. That order expired in February.
At 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, a vehicle driven by Mayle drove by Androscoggin County Sheriff Sgt. Reilly Bryant in Minot, and that contact led to the discovery of the runaway juvenile at Mayle’s residence, police said.
Bryant transported the girl to the sheriff ’s office in Auburn and turned her over to her parents.
Mayle was arrested Thursday night at his home in Minot and charged with criminal restraint.
Mayle is being held at the Androscoggin County Jail on $1,000 bail.
The case remains under investigation.
