WISCASSET — The Help Yourself Shelf Food Pantry at St. Philip’s Church, 12 Hodge St., has been awarded a matching grant opportunity of $300 through Good Shepherd Food Bank.
Between now and the end of May, the Shelf needs contributions donated toward the grant to aid its work providing nutrition and personal supplies to those suffering food insecurity. People can help by sending a contribution to the Help Yourself Shelf Food Pantry, to the above address, stating clearly in the check’s memo line that the donation is to be counted toward the matching grant.
No contribution is too large or too small, and it will be doubled up to $300. All donations will be put toward the purchase of supplies for the Shelf from Good Shepherd. Call 882-7184.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
