BRUNSWICK
A Brunswick man and woman were indicted by a Cumberland County Superior Court grand jury Monday on assault and endangerment charges involving an 8-month-old baby.
Detective Sgt. Martin Rinaldi with the Brunswick Police Department said Shelagh Kavin, 22, of Brunswick was indicted on a charge of aggravated assault. Dorell Carter, 24, of Brunswick, was indicted on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child.
Rinaldi said detectives investigated a state Department of Health and Human Services report of neglect pertaining to an incident early in 2012.
As a result of the investigation and medical reports, Rinaldi said detectives “determined there was some physical abuse that occurred, including some broken bones.”
Kavin is scheduled for arraignment on April 16 at 8:30 a.m. and Carter on April 2 also at 8:30 a.m., both in Cumberland County Unified Criminal Court.
