Claire Reid, the daughter of Gerald and Colleen Reid of South Harpswell, has been awarded McAuley’s Academic Excellence Scholarship, receiving $25,000 over the course of the four years she attends Catherine McAuley High School.
Scoring in the 99th percentile nationally on the High School Placement Test, which the school administers three times a year to eighth-graders applying for admission, Reid is the top-ranking student for those seeking enrollment in the class of 2017. She is currently a student at St. John’s Catholic School in Brunswick.
Catherine McAuley High School is Maine’s only Catholic college-preparatory high school for young women.
