WOOLWICH
Three people were taken to a Brunswick hospital Monday night after a three-vehicle crash on Route 1 by the Montsweag Roadhouse.
At around 8:45 p.m., a 2008 Ford Escape driven by 37- year-old Samantha Moore was exiting the parking lot of the Montsweag Roadhouse and entering Route 1, said Lt. Calvin Temple of the Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department.
Sydney Morin, 19, was driving a 2001 Nissan Maxima south on Route 1 and could not avoid the Ford Escape that had pulled out in front of the Nissan, Temple said, and attempted to pass out around it. Morin then entered the oncoming traffic lane and hit head on a 2003 Ford Escape driven by 52-year-old Kelly Lorenger, before careening back into the Ford Escape driven by Moore.
Temple said Morin and her passenger, 18-year-old Cassandra Panarese, were transported to Mid Coast Hospital. Lorenger was also taken to Mid Coast Hospital. All three were treated and released, according to a hospital spokesman. Neither Moore nor three passengers in the vehicle she was driving suffered injuries.
The Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department, Woolwich Fire Department and North East Mobile Health Services responded to the crash.
