LISBON
The Moxie Festival Committee announced Thursday the launching of a newly designed Moxie Festival web site.
The website — www.MoxieFestival.com — was created by Maine’s own Krack Media. Visitors to the website can now obtain a 2013 schedule of events and find out from Frank Anicetti, Lisbon Falls’ Moxie Man, how to taste your first Moxie.
Since 1982, The Moxie Festival has been held on the second weekend in July in Lisbon. The festival now draws more than 50,000 people and features a three day powwow; Friday night fireworks; a Saturday parade, Moxie Day 5K Race, Moxie Day ATV Charity Ride and Family Fun Fair; and, on Sunday, the Chief Worumbo Androscoggin River Race and the Moxie Car Show.
Moxie was designated Maine’s first official soft drink, on May 20, 2005.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
