BATH
Police arrested two people in connection with alleged underage drinking in the city.
Casey C. Norris, 28, of Bath is charged with furnishing a place for minors to consume alcohol. Jessica C. Winchenbaugh, 18, of Washington, is charged with illegal possession of alcohol by a minor.
Bath police Officer Garrett Olson led the response effort, Lt. Stanley Cielinski said Monday.
Cielinski said a number of people older than 21 were drinking at 38 Centre St. Police charged Winchenbaugh after police discovered empty beer cans on the roof, he said.
“A taxicab driver told us he saw bricks in the road, and officers went onto the roof,” Cielinski explained. “Everyone scattered inside when we knocked on the door.
Police did not forcibly enter Norris’ apartment without a warrant because they had no proof those who had run inside were minors, Cielinski said.
