BRUNSWICK

Police were kept busy Monday responding to vehicles that slid off slippery roads.

Brunswick police said they had 15 crashes reported Monday, several along Route 1.

The driver of a vehicle involved in one of these crashes, on Route 1 south, was issued a summons for operating after suspension. Deputy Chief Marc Hagan said Lorna Lothrop, 31, of Newcastle was driving her 2001 Subaru Forester on Route 1 at 2:34 p.m, lost control and struck guardrails on the right and left sides of the road. A 17-year-old female complained of back pain but no one was transported.

The driver of a vehicle that crashed at 3:54 p.m. on Route 1 north in Brunswick near New Meadows River was taken to Parkview Adventist Medical Center and issued a summons alleging operating after suspension, Hagan said.

Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department had nine crashes Monday, including:

— A 2000 Ford Explorer driven by Courtney Bluck, 31, of South Portland that lost control on State Road in West Bath and rolled off the road at 1:20 p.m. Bluck was unhurt.

— A 2008 Hyundai driven by Gage Peaslee, 21, that left Old Stage Road in Woolwich and struck a tree, causing $3,000 in damage.

— A 2008 Chevy pickup truck driven by Brandon Seubert, 20, of Topsham that lost control in slush while changing lanes and struck the rear of a trailer truck on Route 1 south in West Bath near the New Meadows River.
