BATH — The Planning Board will consider on Tuesday, Dec. 4, a request from the Bath Masonic Building Association to amend Historic District guidelines.

The board tabled the request Oct. 2. Masons want to replace pilasters on the front of the Masonic Temple at 958 Washington St., with half- round columns.

In June, the Historic District Committee denied the request. Masons replaced round columns in front of the pilasters, but changing a pilaster to a half-round column would change the architectural character of the building, the panel decided.
