BRUNSWICK — Brunswick Downtown Association will host its annual silent auction fundraiser Thursday, Nov. 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Reading Room in the 1904 Building of the Curtis Memorial Library, 23 Pleasant St.
The silent auction is open to the general public. Featured auction items will include a one-hour flight in a Cessna 183 out of the Wiscasset Airport; a cruise and gourmet lunch for four on Casco Bay on a 28-foot sailboat; an 18 inch by 36 inch stained glass panel, hand-designed and constructed by BDA Executive Director Debora King; tickets to see Midcoast Youth Theater’s production of “Fiddler on the Roof”; original art from Maine artists; gift items and certificates from local businesses; and more.
Local musical artists Tamora Goltz and David Stimson will provide seasonal and traditional Irish music, and complimentary refreshments will be provided by local area restaurants and BDA board members.
Proceeds from the auction will assist the BDA in its efforts to support improvement projects, coordinate public programs and organize special events to promote a strong, vibrant Downtown Brunswick.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
