BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick Downtown Association will host its annual tree lighting ceremony from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23 at Town Mall on Maine Street.

This year’s holiday tree is a Norway spruce that was planted in the spring to replace last year’s temporary tree; it will be decorated with LED lights with the assistance of Tim Vail of Vail’s Tree Service.

The 24-foot tree is northwest of the gazebo, across from Elm Street.

The public is invited to horse-and-carriage rides, a community sing-along, and hot chocolate and cookies, with a visit from Santa and Frosty the Snowman.

Decorations for the tree are provided by the Village Improvement Association and the Brunswick Downtown Association sponsors the holiday lighting and adornments along Maine Street, funded solely through private donations.

Individuals and businesses wishing to contribute to the holiday decoration fund can make a tax-deductible donation to Brunswick Downtown Association, P.O. Box 15, Brunswick, ME 04011.
