The Bath Farmers Market invites the public to do its Thanksgiving shopping at its Thanksgiving Market
The Thanksgiving Market will be at the winter home of the Bath Farmers Market, in the Freight Shed on Commercial Street. The regular Winter Market is 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 17, and the Thanksgiving Market also will be open from 9 to noon on Wednesday, Nov. 21.
There will be turkey — or duck, beef, chicken or goat — and all the fixings. The Thanksgiving Market also will feature root vegetables, squashes, pumpkins, fresh greens and herbs, free-range eggs, apples and granola and local honey and cranberries. There is also a variety of fresh cheese, silky yogurt, and fresh milk; handmade soaps and knitted or felted items.
Robin Chase, who makes pies at the Chase Farm Bakery, said she will take pie orders at the Farmers Market this Saturday.
She will bring a few extra, Chase said, but encourages people to order them.
“People can order as many as they want,” Chase said. “There is not a pie I do not make.”
Chase’s most popular Thanksgiving pie? If you guessed pumpkin, you’d have to guess again.
“It’s ‘bumbleberry,’” Chase said. “It’s a mixture of blueberries, blackberries and raspberries.”
Chase also offers pies made from homemade mince meat — a true Thanksgiving tradition.
“It’s nothing like the mincemeat you buy in a jar,” she said.
