BRUNSWICK — Eighteen artists from Circling the Square Fine Art Press and One of a Kind Printers will be exhibiting new work together.
This project brought two groups of artists out of their individual studios to exchange work and ideas through the making of fine art prints. The show, Collaborative Connections, will be on view today through Nov. 29 at Curtis Memorial Library, 23 Pleasant St. An opening reception will be held tonight from 5 to 7 p.m. to meet the artists.
Collaborative Connections refers to the process by which the prints were created, a news release said. Each artist was randomly paired with another artist. The artists made a print and exchanged that print with their partner who then created a print in response. The paired artworks, displayed side by side, reveal each artist’s sensitivity and individuality while reflecting aspects of the other.
The artists in the show hail from Portland to Orono and towns in between. The Mid-coast area is represented by Robin Brooks of Topsham; Diana McFarland, Judith Long and Sarah Vosmus of Brunswick; and Donna Parkinson of Freeport.
Collaborative Connections will be open for viewing during regular library hours.
