BATH — Communities Against Substance Abuse will host a community discussion about underage drinking and what a community can do to protect its kids from the dangers of underage drinking and drug use.

The discussion — in reaction to an underage drinking party that occurred in Bath last weekend that ended with serious injury to a young teenager — will begin at 7 p.m. today in the Bath Middle School cafeteria, 6 Old Brunswick Road.

The evening will be moderated by Geno Ring, a licensed drug and alcohol counselor. Other coalition members will include Marc Brunelle of the Bath Police Department, Sagadahoc County Sheriff Joel Merry and Heidi Tucker, coordinator of CASA and the Substance Abuse Prevention Project at Mid Coast Hospital.

For more information, call contact Tucker at 373-6958 or visit www.midcoastcasa.org.
