Two sets of papers went out, but only one candidate for the Board of Selectmen turned in her nomination papers by Monday’s deadline.
Sarah Hall, of 156 Cedar Pond Road, submitted her papers with 28 valid signatures to run for the seat vacated by former Selectman Philip Gilikson. The position opened up when Gilikson resigned from the board in June.
Assuming Hall is elected, she will serve the remaining 17 months of the term, which expires in April 2014.
To be eligible, candidates had to collect at least 25, but not more than 100, signatures from constituents.
The special election will be held the same day as the general election, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 6. at the Durham Community School gym.
